Cassina Fiandra Sofa

Fiandra is the historic sofa designed by Vico Magistretti for Cassina in 1975, reissued in 2025 with slight structural modifications to meet contemporary sofa requirements. In the new version, Fiandra has more generous shapes and a lower seat. The characteristic shape of the foot remains unchanged. The reissue of Fiandra also includes a process of subtraction: the superfluous is eliminated through a structural construction that excludes unnecessary materials. The wooden panels and their metal supports are replaced, the molded frame of the seat is eliminated in favor of a single powder-coated steel structure that supports the strapped surface, on which the cushions with different levels of support rest – made of polyurethane foam with a percentage of bio-based or recycled polyols – held in place by the internal lining and fabric cover. The modules are joined together by a metal plate with snap buttons positioned under the seat, which can be attached without turning the sofa over.
