Cassina Sarpi Table
It was 1974 when Carlo Scarpa designed the Sarpi table for Simon, the company acquired by Cassina in 2013, six years after the conception and success of the Doge table. Included in the Ultrarazionale collection, Sarpi echoes the features and geometries of the Doge table but breaks free from the citationism of Scarpa's earlier masterpiece with a base, also made of metal, that is upside-down and small in size to allow the table to fit into smaller rooms. In 2009 Tobia Scarpa added to the original octagonal top and rectangular, square, and round tops the one called Elistella, a rounded format designed on the basis of Bernoulli's spiral.
