Cassina Doge Table
The Doge table by Cassina is a masterpiece of design by the renowned architect Carlo Scarpa, who was commissioned to design the furnishings for the Zentner house in Zurich. The original tabletop was made of wood and the base of steel. The Doge table was then marketed by Simon, a company acquired by Cassina in 2013. The initial design was revised and new materials were introduced for the top and structure. The introduction of new materials did not detract in any way from the power of this piece of furniture, which is both a design object and an architectural object, consisting of a solid metal structure and a visually lighter top.
