With Maap, Erwan Bouroullec has realized a long-held dream in collaboration with Flos: to create a large, immersive luminous surface. The form is just the beginning; each installation introduces a personal and unpredictable element. The diffuser, made of a synthetic material that resembles paper yet is durable, is hand-molded to create a stable and vibrant microstructure.
Maap by Flos is a wall lamp with a strong visual presence, consisting of four LED light sources and a cross-shaped support that magnetically secures the diffuser via Dots. Available in three sizes, it can exceed 3 meters in height, transforming the wall into a field of light. Hand-crinkled, the diffuser creates ever-changing organic shapes. The light spreads from the entire surface, enveloping and uniform.
Conceived as a creative gesture, Maap can evoke landscapes, maps, or natural structures, balancing instinct and form.
