Poltrona Frau Gio Ponti Oro Floor Lamp

Oro is the floor lamp by Gio Ponti, reissued by Poltrona Frau, which brings to life a previously unpublished historic design by the renowned designer. With Oro, rather than simply launching a new product, Poltrona Frau embarks on a cultural journey aimed at expanding its archive. Oro does not remain anchored in the past, but undergoes a contemporary technical restyling with refined finishes and a luminosity in keeping with the times we live in. Oro is a successful interplay of form and light. The combination of contrasting materials accentuates the object’s depth, which emits a golden, enveloping light, as if imbued with gold, lending it a sculptural touch.  

The curved metal panels, arranged in a rhythmic sequence, interact with the three vertical light tubes. The finish of the panels, in brass-anodized aluminum, lends a timeless elegance, while the contrast between the other brass surfaces and the light sources accentuates the object’s three-dimensionality.
