Inspiring the iconic Chester series of capitonné sofas, armchairs and ottomans was a trip by the founder to London, where he discovered that among the seating that elegantly furnished the English city's most exclusive clubs were Chesterfield sofas, characterized by their unmistakable capitonné work, rounded arms and leather upholstery. Poltrona Frau's Chester sofa, available as a two- or three-seater, then as now is handcrafted. The back is finished with a row of leather-covered tacks.
